Cloud 8: ‘Diversity in educational organizations and corporations: opportunities and dilemmas for improving learning’ online conference on 27/09/2019.

EAPRIL Cloud 8 (Diversity & Equality in Different Contexts) is organising an online conference titled ‘Diversity in educational organizations and corporations: opportunities and dilemmas for improving learning’ on Friday September 27, 2019.

We invite all those interested in equality and diversity in educational organizations and corporations to join us online. The event is an opportunity to share and discuss research findings, progress with on-going projects, policy developments and good practice around the conference theme.

We are pleased to announce our key note speakers:

Kerry Pace, the founder of ‘Diverse Learners’ providing Disability Support and Training for the healthcare sector and healthcare education. Kerry has received a number of awards for her work and will be speaking about enhancing access to specialist support via the internet for students who have disabilities.

Kathy Martyn, principal lecturer at the University of Brighton, has a role in supporting inclusion with a particular emphasis on those courses with work or practice-based components and leads on Universal Design for Learning. Dr Martyn’s session is titled ‘The problem with work – understanding ableist attitudes to inclusion in professional education’.

Expressions of interest

We welcome proposals for short 20 minute presentation to initiate discussion on the topic of the conference. The proposal should contain i) the presentation title, ii) a paragraph of further explanation (150-200 words), iii) your name, organization and email contact details.

Programme

The event begins at 10:00 hours Central European Summer Time and will end at 16:15 hours. The language of the event will be English. A detailed conference programme will be made available later.
